[and Oswald just...places his apron on the counter, wades his way through the crowd, ignoring any calls for his attention, grabs a cane and a coat on the way out and just...
leaves.
Does not look back at the tavern, even once they're outside.]
[...Boy, he really has no trouble just doing this, huh? Edward's still a little more apprehensive, but, well. In for a penny...]
This direction. I'll just lead the way.
[And he'll head on back towards the ship. It's a big one with a decently sized crew, but, well. It's too crowded for his liking. At least right now it's mostly empty. Most everyone's out drinking.]
[...he'll just, make sure not to go too fast, so Oswald can keep up with him. But they get to the ship quickly enough. He pauses, as they reach the dock.]
Well, ah. Here it is.
...I suppose I'll have to discuss this with the Captain...
[As soon as he steps on that ship, Oswald's demeanor changes. He hunches over his cane just a little more, lowering himself in stature just slightly, shoulders rounding. It isn't hard to find the Captain after that...nor is it hard to talk his way onto the ship. Somehow, it seems that the cook has decided to retire just earlier that day...so there's an open spot for a ship's cook which, after some explanation and credentials, Oswald is quickly hired into the spot.
[Yeah, Edward goes from worried, to relieved, to... squinting a little at what just went on, here. He's giving Oswald a bit of a look, still... trying to figure him out.
[the ship sways just slightly with the waves, and Oswald sucks in a slight breath, reaching out instinctively to steady himself against Edward's arm--at which point he blinks, and turns it into just tucking his hand into Edward's elbow]
[Edward immediately freezes up at the contact, tense. And it's a few moments before he comes back to himself and realizes that Oswald just spoke.]
Ah... Of course. This way.
[He'll lead him down below deck, then, and show Oswald around the various areas. It's not the nicest ship, but it's... certainly livable. There's worse places to be.]

[...okay, this is. happening now? sure. sure! okay. this is all very quick.]
Alright, then. Let's.
[he'll follow through the door, then.]

leaves.
Does not look back at the tavern, even once they're outside.]
Right. So, where's this ship?

This direction. I'll just lead the way.

It'll do, I suppose. It at least doesn't look like it's about to fall apart.

[he's a little amused]
The ship is... fine. Too busy and run by an idiot, but fine enough. We won't go down and drown or anything.

gonna hurry behind him, he's a little worried about this.]
no subject
It's almost too easy, really. Suspiciously so.]

Maybe this was a mistake...?]
no subject
Well. That was a convenient coincidence. [d r y. there's a flicker of displeasure in his face] How nice.
[He huffs] You'll show me around, though~?
no subject
["Destiny", right? Ugh.]
...Mhm. I guess I can do that. This is the best time to be doing it, since most of the crew's still out.
no subject
Well? Give me the grand tour, then.

Ah... Of course. This way.

no subject
...well. I guess we'll be operating in close quarters.
