| | Definitely. [Yeah, lol, he don't care.] I don't know if there's some policy they have there or if she was worried this information would be upsetting to me, but honestly... I'm kind of glad he's dead. |
| | [Edward pauses and... laughs a little.] I can't say I'd mind that. He was kind of awful... I never liked him. |
[LAUGH IS GOOD Oswald's smirk widens] Then we'll have to celebrate! [he pushes to his feet] I know exactly where we can get a decent champagne and there's a wonderful bakery in town where we could get a cake. We might have to write "congratulations on the death of one of your foster parents" on it ourselves, but I'm sure we'll manage.
| | [Oswald, please, omg...] That's pretty long... I'm not sure that'll fit. |
| | [This is good. This is a good thing and he should feel better and he... does feel better, but...] Ah... Hah... Alright, then. |
| | ...Honestly, any? [He's never had a cake he didn't like, okay. But... out they go.] |
Then maybe we'll ask if we can sample a couple different kinds. Just to make sure you get the right one, of course. [yep, off they go indeed. And Oswald is going to make sure they get a very nice bottle of champagne and they go through about four or five different samples of cake before Edward is encouraged to pick one out....and finally, some icing from the grocery store, so they can write a message on the top]
| | [It's a good time. Edward enjoys it and it distracts him wonderfully in the moment. He doesn't give the whole thing any more thought. Even over the next few days, he doesn't. He doesn't think about it. He doesn't think about ░░░░▒▒▒▒▒▒ It's... fine. The next few days are fine. Things are good, still, living here. Being with Oswald is good. Everything is ▒▒▒▒▒... ▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒ It's a new day. Edward is up early, for once, so he's up when it's time for Oswald to head off. Everything is fine.] |

| | It wasn't as bad as it seemed, really. I know how to handle ghosts. And usually they're approaching me first, so they're not so aggressive. |
| | ...yes. You certainly did have it handled. It was rather impressive. [he pauses again after finishing tying his cravat, smoothing down the front of his vest. He's quiet for a moment, looking down at the ends of his vest] I know it's, well, a bit silly. You certainly have plenty of experience. Only...[he swallows]...would you call me, when you're done? Just to check-in? |
