Oh. [.....HM. His eyes flick over Edward's face.] .....good riddance? [he arches an eyebrow]

Definitely. [Yeah, lol, he don't care.] I don't know if there's some policy they have there or if she was worried this information would be upsetting to me, but honestly... I'm kind of glad he's dead.

[the corner of Oswald's mouth curls at that, sly, cheeky] Should we celebrate, then?

[enigmaster]

[Edward pauses and... laughs a little.] I can't say I'd mind that. He was kind of awful... I never liked him.

[agoodname]

[LAUGH IS GOOD Oswald's smirk widens] Then we'll have to celebrate! [he pushes to his feet] I know exactly where we can get a decent champagne and there's a wonderful bakery in town where we could get a cake. We might have to write "congratulations on the death of one of your foster parents" on it ourselves, but I'm sure we'll manage.

[enigmaster]

[Oswald, please, omg...] That's pretty long... I'm not sure that'll fit.

[agoodname]

We won't know until we try, now will we~? [he winks at him] Come along--let's go pick out your cake. [:>]

[enigmaster]

[This is good. This is a good thing and he should feel better and he... does feel better, but...] Ah... Hah... Alright, then.

[agoodname]

[and he'll hand him his coat as they get to the door] What kind of cake do you normally like?

[enigmaster]

...Honestly, any? [He's never had a cake he didn't like, okay. But... out they go.]

Then maybe we'll ask if we can sample a couple different kinds. Just to make sure you get the right one, of course. [yep, off they go indeed. And Oswald is going to make sure they get a very nice bottle of champagne and they go through about four or five different samples of cake before Edward is encouraged to pick one out....and finally, some icing from the grocery store, so they can write a message on the top]

[It's a good time. Edward enjoys it and it distracts him wonderfully in the moment. He doesn't give the whole thing any more thought. Even over the next few days, he doesn't. He doesn't think about it. He doesn't think about ░░░░▒▒▒▒▒▒ It's... fine. The next few days are fine. Things are good, still, living here. Being with Oswald is good. Everything is ▒▒▒▒▒... ▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒ It's a new day. Edward is up early, for once, so he's up when it's time for Oswald to head off. Everything is fine.]

[Oswald blinks when he notices Edward is up, coming over as he idly ties his cravat] You're up early today. Is there a special occasion?

[▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒] Oh, no, not really. I just woke up and didn't feel like sleeping more. [And, well. He doesn't look very tired, so that seems legit.]

That's fair. [he looks mildly amused] Do you have any plans for that day?

[enigmaster]

Mhm, just ghost stuff. [The usual, so to speak.]

[agoodname]

Ah. [.....yep that doesn't make him worry at all--and he pauses in tying his cravat, fingers lingering near his throat...before he keeps tying it] You'll be careful?

[enigmaster]

[▒▒▒] Yeah. I do this a lot, you know.

[agoodname]

I know. [the corner of his mouth quirks slightly] You're very capable. But it can be...dangerous, if the encounter I accompanied you on was any indication.

[enigmaster]

It wasn't as bad as it seemed, really. I know how to handle ghosts. And usually they're approaching me first, so they're not so aggressive.

[agoodname]

...yes. You certainly did have it handled. It was rather impressive. [he pauses again after finishing tying his cravat, smoothing down the front of his vest. He's quiet for a moment, looking down at the ends of his vest] I know it's, well, a bit silly. You certainly have plenty of experience. Only...[he swallows]...would you call me, when you're done? Just to check-in?

[enigmaster]

[It's nice... right? To have someone actually worry about him? It's ▒▒▒▒▒▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓] Alright... I can do that.

[agoodname]

[something in him relaxes just slightly, shoulders slumping a little] ...thank you. [he looks up, then, and there's a small smile of relief.] That means a lot to me.

[enigmaster]

Sure... No problem. If that helps you worry a little less...

It will at least take a couple hours off of my worrying. [and he just...reaches out to touch his hand, gently, lingering] I appreciate it.
