"Yeah, I'm gettin' that vibe." [Butch frowns a bit at that locket, noting it, before bringing his eyes back up to Edward, hand reaching out to rest on his shoulder and steady him] "So what'd they do? You kind look like you could use a visit to the doctor just to make sure you don't have any internal bleeding or anything."

[Yeah, he kind of... needs to be steadied.] Oh, um... I just got hit a couple times. I'll be fine, really... [It happens.]

"No offense, Eddie, but you look about dead on your feet. And maybe some internal bleeding. Sure you don't wanna get checked out? Just to be safe?"

[enigmaster]

I don't think it's that bad... [Yeah, well, you're maybe not the best judge actually, Edward.] Just, um... gotta find my glasses, that's all. [Those are... nearby, on the ground. But he's not gonna have much luck finding those on his own.]

[Butch huffs a bit at that] "Hold on--stay there." [and he's going to walk over and retrieve them. He can't force Edward to go to the hospital or the doctor. But he has a feeling that Oswald might be able to. Anyway, he comes back with the glasses, and holds them out.]

[enigmaster]

[Yep, taking those and putting them on. Good, he can see again. It does not make the black eye look any better.] Um... Thank you. [He doesn't... just mean for the glasses.]

"No problem. Let's get you home and at least get some ice on that eye, yeah? You got a hell of a shiner."

[enigmaster]

[Edward hesitates a moment, looking down at the locket in his hand, but... he puts it in his pocket. It's safe, now, so he can do something with this another day. ...His eye does kind of hurt.] ...Okay. Sure.

[agoodname]

[yeah he's going to note that hesitation--and the locket] "...we'll take care of that later, okay? Don't worry." [and he's going to reach out and gently clasp his shoulder, steering him out but also steading him]

[enigmaster]

Alright... [Yeah, the steadying is helpful, keeping him upright. He's still wobbly, even if he's acting like it's no big deal. Best just, uh. Get him home.]

[yeah Butch is keeping a very close eye on that. He's starting to feel like maybe whatever damage there is, isn't all physical. But it's just a hunch. He's totally just going to get him home first though]

[enigmaster]

[Wow he's? Fine? He's fine. Completely fine. ...Yeah, time to just, get a cab and get going. And Edward's a little, um. Out of it? Which would be reasonable enough, after getting roughed up, but it doesn't... seem like it's that. At least, not completely.]

"...hey Eddie. Question for ya."

[enigmaster]

[He blinks and looks over.] Huh?

[agoodname]

"Did somethin' happen? Before I got to ya, I mean."

[enigmaster]

...No? Not really.

[agoodname]

"...but you knew it was dangerous, goin' in there." [there's no way he couldn't know....right?]

[enigmaster]

[Did he know that? Well. Of course he knows it. But... did he know it at the time, is the question. That's...] I... Sure, yeah. [...] ...I don't know.

"...okay. So you don't know why you went in there?"

[enigmaster]

...It made more sense at the time.

[agoodname]

"Yeah, things do sometimes." [yeah that's not a worry. But Butch keeps his tone understanding--and he'll usher Edward out of the car and upstairs once they get there, and start by getting something cold on that eye]

[enigmaster]

[Yeah, Edward just... kind of follows and does whatever Butch guides him to do. Autopilot's very much kicked in. Although...] Oh... I was supposed to call Oswald when I was done. I forgot...

"...oh boy." [Butch glances at the clock] "What time does he usually get home again?"

[enigmaster]

Um... Around six, if things don't run late... [Let's be real here, though, Edward calling in this state is going to ease no one's mind.]

".....ah. Well, in that case, you might want to be--"

[whiiiich is about the time that there's a key in the lock and the sound of a bit of scrabbling, before it swings open, bouncing a bit agains the wall with the force of the shove Oswald gives it] Edward! Edward, are you here?!
