[asldkfhlsd he's quickly grabbing a couple of the files and yanking them out of the way as Edward just....slides down into his lap. What. HOW??? HOW IS THIS HIS LIFE??? but he can't wake him up alskdhfs he's been out all night he needs the sleep and also he doesn't really want to move him. At all. Oswald swallows a bit and carefully sets the files onto the stack he's rearranged and the pillow he'd pulled over and gets himself resettled. And just. tries to keep working???? "Tries" being the key word. Finally he just kind of....gives up and stares down at him for a moment, expression a strange mixture of unguarded affection but also...uncertainty. He...really doesn't want to chase him off. Or assume anything. But also he really...likes Edward. A lot. And if that just means they're friends, that would be enough! That would be more than enough! But he doesn't want to ruin this. He's scared of ruining this. Oswald closes his eyes for a moment, before he just...breathes out, and gently threads his fingers into Edward's hair, combing through the strands]

[At Oswald brushing through Edward's hair, he shifts, slightly. But he's relaxed, still.] Mm... [It's definitely not a displeased noise.]

[Oswald stills for a moment as Edward makes a small humming noise and Oswald's stomach does a funny little flipflop--and then keeps gently carding his fingers through his hair, swallowing hard. He just....kind of hopes that he keeps sleeping]

[And... he does. Edward keeps quietly sleeping. He looks... very peaceful, for once.]

[....cute. Oswald tucks a wayward curl of hair behind his ear, heart stuttering in his chest. And he gives up trying to focus on his work and instead just...keeps petting fingers through his hair. Until he starts to feel a little sleep himself at which point he just kind of...tips his head back against the back of the couch and keeps doing so until he eventually, slowly dozes off, hand resting gently against the side of Edward's neck]

[Edward ends up just sleeping through the night. Exhaustion is... really getting to him and this is the most comfortable and peaceful he's been in. Well. A while. ...And into morning, so Oswald might even wake up first. Edward's been very tired for a very long time.]

[He does--but that's mostly due to his alarm going off on his phone. And he makes an inquisitive sound, as he lifts his head a bit, groaning at the slight pain in his neck from sleeping like that, blinking blearily. His hand is still resting just behind Edward's ear, fingers curled into his hair]

Mhmm... [Edward starts... stirring, a little, at that. The noise, Oswald's movement. And he blinks, a little. Slowly. ...this isn't the bed in Oswald's room.]

[.....oh. oh hells. Oswald swallows, slowly trying to disentangle his hand from Edward's hair, as if the could avoid drawing attention that it's there somehow alskdhflsd HIS PHONE IS ACROSS THE ROOM HE CAN'T MAKE IT STOP HELP????]

[Edward... slowly lifts his head. He's a little groggy right now, so his brain's working a little slow right now.] Huh...? [Did he fall asleep on the couch or-- ... ...wait.]

[alksdhflsdhs yep edward sure is awake.] Ah...good morning. [YEP JUST GONNA....FINISH EXTRACTING HIS HAND....]

[Edward sits up, then. Wincing a bit as he does, because boy, okay, that was a little fast maybe.] Uh. I-- Good-- Ah... [oh hell oh hell OH HELL] D-Did I fall asleep on you...?

[laksdfslh he jerks his hand back the rest of the way as Edward sits up--and he turns away from him a bit to gather up his files, using the busy work of doing so to hide his face] Yes--but it's fine. It was an accident. I didn't want to wake you after the day you'd had.

[aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA--] Oh. Um, w-well... Sorry about that, though. I... guess I was more tired than I thought...

It's--it's fine. [he swallows, having finished gathering his files, and pushes to his feet] I'm glad you got enough rest. [YEP. JUST GONNA. CROSS THE ROOM. TO TURN OFF HIS PHONE]

Uh... Mhm. Right... [He's very embarrassed and Oswald probably does mind but he's just not saying it and oh god Edward you idiot...]

[he sets his phone back down, finally turning to look at Edward] I'll just grab my suit for the day, and then you can go back to sleep in a real bed. [the corner of his mouth quirks a bit] Should be significantly more comfortable.

I don't know, it was... pretty comfortable... [oh god WHY DID HE SAY THAT]

[Edward picks up his phone and swallows. Oh dear god why did he have to fall asleep on Oswald, see, of course he's ruining things. Way to go, genius... He blinks and takes his glasses off, then.] Ah... [...Really should've taken those off first...]
