[Oswald almost laughs as the sky opens up and just starts pouring, soaking the young man almost immediately, to Oswald's delight. He keeps it in, though, as he swoops down to follow a bit more closely, darting in and out between the stalls on the street. There are several vendors who are trying to get their wares inside before they get soaked....maybe... He trys swooping down in front of one of them, blinding them temporarily, causing them to yelp and stumble a bit, possibly into that young man, who might very well crash into that magazine display. G o s h what a twist of fate THAT would be.]

[Well, that... is exactly what happens, in fact. Edward blinks as he feels someone stumbling into him and the next moment it's right onto the magazine display. And then the ground, the next moment.] Ow-- [What is WITH this day? Mugged, drenched, and on the ground is not what things were supposed to be like, thank you very much.] Come on... [He makes sure to rush away before someone makes him help with the display, god forbid. Time to just hurry on home before the day gets even worse.]

[oh, watching this guy go down is just a delight--who knows, maybe he'll step in a large puddle on the way home?? That would just be the cherry on the cake. Oswald glides after him, weaving in between buildings and vendors and signs, keeping an eye on him, and for just the right time to strike. If he can catch him in a despairing moment, that would be perfect, even]

[The good (bad) news is, he does not step into a puddle. The bad (good) news is, a car definitely speeds by and sprays him with water anyway. Sorry, Edward. This is just your day. Sorry, buddy. He ends up just, hiding out in an alley after a bit, one that's mostly shielded from the rain. He needs to just... wipe his glasses.]

[there--that's it. Oswald must have some lucky star looking out for him today, because the young man ducks into an alley after being splattered by a bunch of street water. It's perfect. He steps up behind him, floating ominously, slipping in between his shoulder blades.] Oh~ Such terrible luck today... [it's almost crooned, sympathetic, from behind him] I bet I could make it all better. Tell me what you wish, hm~?

Huh? [He spins around, quickly. But... wh...] ...Don't tell me I'm hearing things, too.

No, no~ I'm here to help you. [and he materializes in the shadows of the alley] You simply just have to tell me your wish, and I'll make it happen.

[ . . . ] ... I-- Sorry, wh... What?

[Oswald huffs a bit at that, folding his arms] Really now. Do you need me to explain it again?

Because that's not extremely ominous to tell someone...! [hhhhhh maybe just takes a few steps to the side.] Seriously, what... what are you?

[right he'll just move in a bit closer] An Imagin~ And I can't help it if the truth sounds ominous to you. [he pouts, folding his arms] C'mon~ You've had a terrible day, right? I bet I could make it better.

This is... definitely... not making it better. [he's hallucinating. he hit his head earlier and he's hallucinating.] I'm just... gonna... [...and he's gonna just run the fuck out of the alley B Y E]

[Edward is just going to bolt right back home. This is entirely too much and, fuck it, he'll just get soaked. He just needs to get home and... sleep. That's fine. He can just... forget this happened. Sometimes you have a bad day and lose it a little, right? He stops once he's close by his apartment, just... catching his breath. Too much exercise. And in the pouring rain, too...]

Well. If I'd known you were going to be this touchy about it, I would have waited. [he says, just...popping out of the ground] You're going to be one of those that takes all day to think about it, aren't you?

[Edward immediately yelps and hurries back.] What... the hell. [He just. Stares. What does he do with this?] You're... one persistent hallucination.

That's because I'm not a hallucination. Like I said, I'm an Imagin~

And just what the hell is that supposed to be?

Now, really, what kind of question is that? That's like asking, what is a human supposed to be?

I could give a decent definition of one if someone asked, at least. And we don't go around asking people their wishes-- Wait. No. I should not be indulging this. [He stands up a little straighter and just. lets out a deep breath.] I'm going home. Go away, now. [Yep, yep, heading to his apartment now.]

[Right. Okay. Oswald lets out an exasperated sigh--and up you go to your apartment, Edward. Except when you get there...Oswald will already be inside. Waiting] I can't go away. Not until you make your wish.
