Yeah. Not much to be done about that, except more painkillers, and I'd rather, uh... not. [He's had enough of those.]

That understandable. I try not to take those when I don't have to myself.

I think I've had enough to last a lifetime.

Yeah, well, we'll get you out for a bit and that'll give you something to focus on other than all that, at least. Any requests?

[enigmaster]

Honestly, just being somewhere other than this room for a bit sounds great... [that's all he wants]

[agoodname]

"We can definitely make that happen. Wouldn't want you goin' stir crazy in here."

[enigmaster]

Too late for that, I think.

[agoodname]

[Butch barks out a laugh] "Well, you're still better off on the sanity level than most of the people out there, so I'd call that a win. But I'll definitely figure out a thing with Lee and Oswald to get you out of here for at least a bit."

[enigmaster]

Ah... thanks. [He hesitates a moment.] How're things going, anyway, back at the Citadel?

[agoodname]

[at that, Butch huffs out a breath, sitting back a bit] "Pretty busy. We've got the rebuilding, the reorganization--then outside of that, regaining the ground we've lost. Oswald still wants Meroni's head on a platter, so there's that to deal with. Everyone's working on at least two different things--at least in the Gentoos."

[enigmaster]

Sounds... hectic.

[...He kind of wishes he could help.]

No further trouble with Hyperion, at least...?

"They seem to have calmed down now that they think you're dead. I mean, we did have to take out a couple Icicles who we found were informants, but they were easy enough to suss out and get rid of."

[enigmaster]

Oh. Good, I guess. [hhhhhh] ...Well, really now, if I'd known that getting hit by a moonshot was all it'd take to get them to back off... [JUST A LITTLE WRY HUMOR]

[alsdhfs Butch snorts at that, a grin curling at the corner of his mouth]"Yeah. That's all, I guess. Though I don't trust 'em as far as I can throw them. I'm guessing there's bigger fish to fry than us for now, but also there's no way that we're forgotten about."

[enigmaster]

Definitely not. Jack holds grudges, he's definitely not about to stop forever...

For the moment, he's probably just distracted by the Crimson Raiders.

[That'll get a blink--before he nods] "Oh, yeah. We heard about them. Never tangled with them ourselves and we sure don't intend to but...if they're keeping Jack distracted, I'll count it as a good thing."

[enigmaster]

We'll see how long the resistance thing lasts... I can't say I like their odds, but, well. A distraction's a distraction.

"Yeah, I'll take it for as long as it'll last, that's for sure. Though if they're out for Handsome Jack, I'm just gonna hope they don't try and go to Oswald for help. Knowing him, he'd see it as an opportunity."

[enigmaster]

Hm. It'd be nice if they could just get rid of Jack. If only it were likely.

"I would wonder how he's survived this long, but I know how. People like him survive only one way, and that's destroying anything and everything in his path, but in the most subtle way imaginable."

[enigmaster]

...He was just a programmer originally, you know. Just another cog in the grand Hyperion machine. [That part's not so well known. And wow, talk about... familiar.]

[now THAT is a surprise] "...seriously? Then what--he got a taste for blood?"

Blood, power... something like that, probably. That sort of attitude was already encouraged at Hyperion, Jack simply took it further than anyone else. One way of becoming the guy in charge is to just... kill whoever's currently in charge.
