[It's hard to tell if he really heard her or not. His attention is slipping, kind of, which is. Definitely the painkillers, yeah. Everything's kind of blurring together.]
[He sure does feel more lucid! Lucid enough that... the feeling of the painkillers messing up his head is starting to bother him a bit. He groans a little, putting his hand up to his forehead. Which... kind of blocks his vision since he can only see out the one eye right now, but.
[it sure does! It's not a great feeling--like trying to fight through cotton to get any thought to go. When he does try finally giving his room a look around when he's half lucid, he'll find an absence of Serena, and instead find...
Oswald. It might be night, which explains why the shades are drawn and moreover, why Oswald is asleep in the chair he's sitting in. He's hunched over a bit oddly, elbow on the arm rest, cheek in his hand, if not asleep then definitely dozing.]
[that's enough to jolt him--his cheek slips out of his hand and he almost falls forward before he catches himself, blinking a bit blearily as he looks over at the bed. He blinks, once--before he realizes Edward is awake and his eyes widen a bit]
Edward. Good, er--[he glances at his watch]--evening.
That's...not surprising. She's had you on some pretty heavy painkillers. She said they were starting to take you off of them, however. So that's a good sign.
[That's all well and good but there was something now and god he just hates how slow his brain is working, when it's usually almost to fast to even keep up with.]
How... um... long has it been... [He blinks again, slowly. Words. Right. Just... in order.] ...since... y'know.
[His sense of time right now is garbage. He doesn't know how long he's been out.]
Salvageable, thanks to you. [there's a slight bit of gentleness that finds its way under that more neutral tone.] We're rebuilding the parts that were lost.

...Oswald?
[It slips out, a little, even though that wasn't meant to be out loud. Filter's still not... great. Something to keep in mind...]

Edward. Good, er--[he glances at his watch]--evening.

[He blinks a few more times. Boy, yep, thinking's... still a bit slow, even if he is awake, sorry Oswald.]

Lee tells me you've been in and out quite a bit. [quietly--he's a bit subdued, if anything]

[He tries to think back, but. It's just a big haze when he tries to remember...]
I think I remember... once, maybe...?

[Edward groans again, trying to... think. There's something he wants to ask, but... He can't quite think of it...]

[A week. Okay. That gives him a frame of reference, anyway.]
How'd... how'd the... um... [...Not going so well. He keeps losing track of what he actually wants to say before he can say it.] Ah... Damn it...

Yeah.
