[Edward winces, hisses, moans--he's in pain and Oswald can do nothing about it. Not only can he do nothing, he's the cause. He presses his lips together to try and keep them from trembling, just....gently trying to soothe until this is over. Or until he falls asleep and Oswald needs to try and figure out how to get more blood from the blood bank.]
[It won't be over for a while. It's hours later when Edward finally stops writhing and making pained sounds, finally going still. But... at least it does happen, eventually.
It's hard to say if he's asleep or just too exhausted from the pain to do anything. It makes little difference right now.
Of course, by this point, there's not a whole lot of nighttime left...]
[Oswald swallows, glancing at the clock as Edward finally relaxes. He doesn't have much time--and he's heaving himself to his feet, throwing on a very plain suit as quickly as possible and retrieving a stack of ememergency funds from a locked safe behind one of the paintings. Then he's going to go and try and retrieve some more blood bags while Edward rests.]
For the rest of the night, the next day, and the whole of the next night, he lies there on the bed, still, eyes shut, and just sleeps. His body has a lot of healing to do and it's starting the process now. The Embrace would be going a lot smoother without that - he might actually be awake and lucid now, if it weren't for that.
But, well. If nothing else, this will give Oswald some breathing room. So to speak.]
[He does manage to make it to the blood bank and back to restock just as the sky is starting to turn colors. He slips back into the apartment, shutting and locking the door behind him, before depositing his haul into the refrigerator.
Oswald has the fleeting, hysterical thought that he can't go back there to get blood because the tally will be too high--he'll have to visit a couple different ones. As he steps into the bedroom, though, he freezes, staring at Edward on the bed, heart in his throat. He looks...dead.
A moment later, he rationalizes that, of course he does, he's turning into a vampire. Oswald swallows, hard, before making his way across the room, hoisting himself up to sit at the head of the bed on the corner, leaning over to just...give him a cursory look. Maybe reaching out to run his fingers through Edward's hair again]
[Edward's colder, now. Not surprising. He was already cold before, from the blood loss, but now he's starting to truly feel like a corpse. The only thing giving away the fact that he isn't is the way he subtly shifts when Oswald goes through his hair.
[It's...a relief, then he moves. Even subtly. He's still here.
It was too close. Far too close. Even this situation isn't great. It isn't good. It's bad even; you're not supposed to Embrace someone without permission--extensive permission. Years in the making, even.
Oswald leaves a hand in Edward's hair--he's started trembling again, and he presses a hand to his own face, taking in deep, shaking breath, trying to start to sort over what just happened and it's...it's so much.
[He sleeps through most of the next night, too... Until near the end of it, that he starts writhing again, pulling at the restraints.
He's healed a lot, which means he's gone through most of his blood supply and now, he's hungry again. And he's much stronger, now, blessed with new strength from the Embrace. He's still very much restrained - stuck - but it's making a racket as he struggles and tries to get free.]
[WHOO BOY yeah that'll get Oswald moving. He didn't sleep very well during the day, but during most of the night, did manage to clean up the left over blood and any traces. He didn't leave, though--he was too worried about Edward waking up again. As soon as he hears that thrashing, though, he's going to grab another couple blood bags from the refrigerator and move quickly to the bedroom. He sets the blood bag on the side table before sitting on the bed, leaning over Edward's thrashing body, frowning, trying to see if there's any recognition at all]
Not too surprising, once Oswald gets a closer look at Edward. It looks like the gunshot has healed well, gone without a trace now, but the wound on his neck is still there. He needs more blood to heal that.
He probably won't be lucid while his body's going through all the blood he's given to heal up. There isn't enough left for the hunger to subside.]
[...okay. Oswald swallows, reaching out to grab one of those blood bags, before shifting back up onto the bed and straddling Edward's torso again so he can use his own body weight to hold him down, and with his other hand, try and hold his head head steady, fingers digging into his cheeks and hand cupped around his chin to hold him still while he tears the top corner of that blood packet open with his teeth]
[Edward struggles - a lot. More than before, now that his body's less of a mess. So it's harder to get the blood in there, but it's still doable. After all, he still very much wants it.
He calms again, afterward, body going still. Just absorbing the blood further into his body.]
[He finally drinks it and settles again. Oswald breathes out, slowly, setting the empty bag aside and letting his shoulders slump. He just...sits there for a moment, reaching out to card his fingers through Edward's hair. His throat is tight--he's still been fighting actually mentally digesting everything that happened in the last 24 hours, instead focusing on what he has to do next, what's the next step.
At the moment, it's just...make sure Edward has enough blood. He's got his refrigerator restocked, so that should at least last through tomorrow night, hopefully.
He also needs to check Edward's injuries and ensure that they're healing. So he's just
going to
force himself to stop petting Edward's hair and get up and go get the first aid kit.]
[Edward's going to be quiet for a bit, at least, as he does that. It looks to be mostly the injury at his throat that's a problem now, healing a little slowly... but it is healing. There might be a little cleanup required, though, because with how much of a mess it is there right now, some blood keeps spilling out of the wound when he drinks.
The neck wound, not so much. Oswald feels his stomach twist when he looks at it and cleans it up, patching it up again. Not because it's gruesome--he's seen more than his share of gruesome things. He's caused an awful lot of them as well. But this is...
Well, it's Edward, isn't it?
He doesn't need to breathe in, but he sucks in a shaky breath anyway as something clenches around his ribcage. He kind of feels like crying again.]
[Patching the wound up will help, at least. It makes the healing go a little smoother. Already, Oswald will be able to notice the wound closing up, quicker than any wound ever should for a human.
As if there was any more confirmation necessary that Edward's not human anymore.
...He'll sleep a little while longer. Are you sticking around, Oswald?]
[it's getting close to morning. Hopefully he can go out at the beginning of the night tomorrow and restock his blood supply. So for now...he'll stick around. He has the urge to pace, but his ankle still hasn't forgiven him for the strain he's already put it under, so that idea is right out]
[Oswald had pulled a kitchen chair up next to the bed, and honestly he was just starting to doze off in the chair when Edward shifts. The slightest movement is more than enough to start him awake, and he blinks, a bit blearily, his attention going immediately to Edward]
[It's confusing, waking up. His head feels... weird.
Well, really, his everything feels weird. There's a feeling of wrongness, as if just waking up like this shouldn't be possible. He remembers pain. A lot of pain. Burning. And...
His eyes blink open, slowly, only a bit for now. He's so tired...
...He shifts a little, trying to get a view of where he is, but something stops him. Why can't he move--]
What's... [There's a slight coppery taste in his mouth. He shakes his head slightly.] Where...?
[...and suddenly, he can strangely feel his stomach drop in both relief and dread as Edward sounds...lucid.]
Edward? Just...deep breaths, okay? It's going to be okay. [there's a tremble to his voice that he can't quite help because everything is frayed at the edges. And he's moving to sit on the edge of the bed, leaning over him a bit. Oswald looks...tired, and a little wrung out, and a bit stressed, but especially concerned.]

Other than that... nothing.
He's still resting.]
