[and once he's disappeared, Oswald is going to just....slowly heave himself to his feet. His face twists into a hard grimace, using both his cane and the back of the couch to get up, breath hissing through his teeth at the pain that's radiating through his hip and down his leg. Because hey that...maybe hurt a lot. He wasn't lying when he said he's had worse; he has. But it's still bad.
Oswald blows out a breath, giving himself a moment to steel himself, before slowly making his way towards the study so he can change.]
[And Edward's just changing as well. Sitting on the edge of the bed for a bit as he waits. He... maybe needs a few deep breaths for a moment. Just to ground himself.
[Oswald will knock on the door a few minutes later, dressed in his pajamas and armed with a heating pad for his hip. It won't do too much, honestly, but it'll do enough.]
[it's not hard to pick a light movie. Nothing too strenuous. About halfway through, Oswald's head will start to droop a bit, leaning onto Edward's shoulder]
[Edward blinks a little, glancing over Oswald's way. Oh. His breath stops for a moment and he's pretty sure his heart skips a beat, but... he stays still. Oswald is so close now and it's... nice. He's almost afraid that if he does anything, the spell will be broken and this'll be gone, so.
[Edward doesn't mind that one bit... He'll shift a little, so Oswald can be as comfortable as possible and just... enjoy this, at least.
Sleeping doesn't seem likely right now, despite being exhausted. Every time he gets close, his brain kicks in with a memory and he's up again. Focusing on Oswald is as relaxed as he's getting, so that'll do.]
[he'll just...keep sleeping until his alarm goes off. In the other room. Oops he definitely was expecting to go back to the study to sleep, so the sound of the alarm on his phone is incredibly faint this morning; certainly not enough to wake him]
[OH. Well, that. Is an issue, yes, oops. Edward looks up idly, taking a moment to realize what he's hearing. He hasn't... really slept, but he'd zoned out and that's close enough, really...
[he just makes a kind of disgruntled, mildly upset sound and curls closer, burying his face in Edward's shoulder. Clearly not awake enough to realize where he is yet lol]

[That awful smell, too.]

...would you like to watch a movie or something? It might help get your mind off of it?
no subject
[That's not to say "no", he just... feels like he should say that right away. His focus right now isn't great and he knows it.]

[Mostly he just needs to... not think for a bit.]

[Yeah, Edward will get on that, then. Sure. He's. Still a little on autopilot, maybe.]

[Shaking... a bit more. Slightly less gentle, because. Oswald has work, w h o o p s.]
