Well. Right now I think I'm supposed to be asking you if I can help you. ...So. Do you need anything or can I just keep reading?

[Oswald hums in consideration, eyes flicking blatantly over the man in front of him] Well, I didn't when I got here, but now that you mention it...there are a couple things I could be looking for.

[He sighs. So that's a no on the reading thing, then.] Well, seeing as I am literally required to help you... What are you looking for?

[Poor boy. Oswald almost feels sorry for him...if he weren't so hungry] Hmm...do you have any books on the anatomy of blood and specific diseases?

[enigmaster]

Sure. The biology section is pretty well stocked, we have a few good titles. [...] If I just give you the titles and section, can you find those on your own, or do you need me to take you there. [Judging from Edward's tone, it's clear he's hoping STRONGLY for the former.]

[Oswald hums again, tapping his chin with a finger] Well, if it wouldn't be too much trouble, I would enjoy the accompaniment~

[Well, it's finally happening. He finally has to actually do his job. Gross. Edward stands up, really none too pleased about this, but whatever.] Alright then. I'll show you where they are. [And he'll just start walking.]

That's so kind of you. [mildly, following behind, but at a slower pace]

[Edward just keeps walking, to the right section. He'll just gather some good titles himself, pulling them from the shelves. He knows right where just about everything in the library is by heart, so it's quick and easy.] Some of these are a little broader in their subject matter than others, but the writing is still good. I'll spare you anything with a bright yellow cover. [No "for dummies" for you, Oswald, aren't you lucky.]

I do appreciate that. Those are rather garish. [he sounds amused]

Too bright and colorful, hm?

[He'll turn and hand Oswald some books. There you go, buddy.]

[Oswald hums, reaching out to accept them from him, brushing his fingers against Edward's as he does so] They'll be a good start. Thank you, Edward~

[enigmaster]

[Edward... blinks at that, a moment.] Sure. Again, it is my job and all. [He has no say in the matter.] Well, if that's all...

It is, for now. I'll let you get back to your book. Terribly sorry for the interruption. [he pauses for a moment, before calling as Edward starts to move away] Though, fair warning, I might interrupt you again, later.

[enigmaster]

[Yeah, Edward's already going, but then that... and he pauses.] Oh? [Is. That so.]

[w h y] Well. You know where to find me. [And he keeps going. Back to his desk and back to reading his book.]

I certainly do~ [said with a bit of a lilt as he watches him go. Well. This evening has certainly taken a turn for the interesting. His eyes flick over the books in his hands, contemplating. He doesn't need to feed tonight, necessarily. He could wait a bit...play a little longer. This is turning out to be a far more interesting evening than he predicted, and he does have time to come back for a bit tomorrow. So perhaps he'll just wait. See what happens. ]

[Edward doesn't pay the meeting any further mind. As far as meeting people goes, it was alright. Not mind numbing like it so often is and that's a win in his book.

But speaking of books, he's far more interested in that, now. He's going to go back to reading, ignoring the world outside of it unless approached again. It's what he does, whenever he's here. His own little routine.

It's what Oswald will find him doing, whether he comes back again that same evening or the next.]

[Oh, he'll come back that same evening. But this time, in comparison to earlier, he makes no sound at all when he comes in, choosing so slip through the shadows, stepping out from behind a bookshelf and stepping silently over to the side of the counter, leaning on it casually] Terribly sorry to disturb you again, Edward, but I'm afraid I must~

[Edward sighs, part of him having been hopeful he could actually get through this book, but. No luck.] ...Yes? [Looking up.] What do you need?

[Oswald sets two of the books he picked out on the counter] I was wondering if either of these authors has written anything else recently?

[enigmaster]

...Hang on. [He'll glance at the books, making a mental note of the authors in question. Time to check the computer.] Well. One of them definitely hasn't. Unless he was buried with his laptop. [Sorry, Oswald, he's super dead.] Let me check the other one.

One never knows. Post-humous publishing does happen. [he sounds amused, propping his cheek up on his chin]

Well, unless they have Wi-Fi six feet under, I doubt his ability to actually send anything along at this point. [Some clacks of the keyboard and...] ...Yes, it looks like there was a new release earlier this year.
