Mm, sure... okay. It's... weird that I can't see anything. [He'll stand up and take a step back. Weird. All this is weird. There's something... off... about all this.]

"I'll take a look...who knows. Maybe I'll get lucky." [he pulls out a high-powered keychain flashlight and moves to get on his hands and knees so he can take a look under the floorboard]

[And there's... nothing. A lot of darkness. But there's a strange... indentation, in the ground there. Like there was something, but it's been taken away.]

"Huh." [he frowns, moving to shift back onto his haunches] "Looks like whatever was there isn't anymore."

[Butch will see Edward stumbling back, clutching his head. A trickle of blood coming from his nose. No response to his question. Enough of an answer on its own.]

"Eddie!" [yeah nope that's not great! That's!! Not Great!!! Butch doesn't really know what to do with the supernatural, other than to, well...remove Edward from the situation. He's not a ghost hunter or whatever, the best he can do is try and help Edward. So he's moving forward, putting hands on his shoulders] "Eddie, I'm gettin' you outta here, okay?" [and then he's going to try and scoop Edward up however he has to and head for the door]

[Edward's not responding. The most he manages is a whimper, just trying to block everything out before it all goes dark ...he goes limp in Butch's arms. breathing but out. not good.]

[whoo yeah boy really *not good*. Butch is going to get them outside before cupping a hand around Edward's neck, feeling for a pulse. He's not really sure what to do with this--should he get him to the hospital??? That's probably his best option. He's going to start doing that]

[Edward will stay out. The hospital admits him immediately, rushing him in for tests and treatment, which... will take some time.

Nothing for Butch to do now but wait, so.

He has... some time.]

[yeah no he's immediately calling Oswald the moment they wheel Eddie away, and guess who is immediately on his way and fairly `freaked out`?

This guy.

Needless to say he's in a bit of a tizzy. It doesn't matter what anything might cost, of course, he's more than willing to pay for whatever Edward needs, and he'll sit in the waiting room impatiently in the mean time.]

[A nurse comes by, at some point, letting him know that Edward is, at least, stable for now. But they're trying to find out what happened, so they're doing some more tests. MRI included, because the symptoms described are...

...worrying.]

[stable is...something. But yeah MRI absolutely, whatever they need to do.

He's...pretty worried]

[...More waiting.

But, eventually, Oswald will be allowed to see Edward. He's still out and they're not sure when he'll be waking up, right now. His condition is rather baffling, but their best guess right now is... a stroke of some sort.

...Well, he's going to be under observation here, for now.]

[Treatment is immediate, of course, and Edward's on an IV. There's... no change in the next day or two, but...]

[...on the third day, Edward finally stirs. Eyes opening slowly, though he hisses in discomfort after a moment, closing his eyes again.] S'too bright... [It's quiet and a little slurred, but unmistakably Edward.]

[...oswald might've been sleeping at the hospital. He might've not gone home. Butch might've brought him a change of clothes and one of the other lawyers brought over some case files for him to study while sitting at Edward's side.

The smell of hospital must be soaked into his skin at this point, or at least it feels like it.

Not that he cares.

He's been sick with worry, not sleeping much and in fits and starts, so when Edward stirs and says something while he's in the middle of a case file--Oswald starts, pushing to his feet immediately, coming closer] Edward?

...s'wald...? [He blinks his eyes open again. Carefully looking around, without moving too much. He feels... weird. Foggy.] ...Wha's... What's going on...?
