[Edward doesn't shift or adjust. He just sits there, posture rigid, looking at Theo without blinking much.] ...I see. [.......yep that's all he's got to say to that]

[somehow, he still doesn't lose that smile] "You're pretty calm about all this, huh?"

[an interesting thing of note with Theo: no ghosts. Even Gertrude seems to have, somehow, vanished]

[That is... a thing, yes. Edward doesn't blink.] Should I not be?

"I mean, most people that go through that many attorneys aren't. It's usually something to worry about a bit."

[.....Theo blinks once, but that easy smile is still there. He looks interested a bit now, if not curious.]

"Huh. You're an interesting one, Edward Nygma." [he pushes to his feet, then.]"I suppose I'll wish you good luck."

[It takes a bit of effort not to tense up at being called interesting. But he manages, and he keeps his expression emotionless, as much as he kind of wants to glare instead.] ...No thanks. [...Hm?]

[Theo arches an eyebrow at that] "No?"

[enigmaster]

I don't believe in luck. So I would prefer you keep such wishes to yourself.

[agoodname]

"Ah! Well, sorry about that, then." [Theo sits up a bit] "Hey, though, I believe in luck. So maybe if I'm lucky, they'll assign me next."[he grins, wider, before pushing to his feet] "Have a good evening, Eddie."

[Edward's eyes narrow at that, ever so slightly. It's subtle.] Mhm.

[and with that response, Theo will turn and also exit the room]

[No attorney, the next day, so things are postponed even further. And by the time Oswald gets to the detention center and enters the room to see Edward, he'll notice that he's... already in the room. Specifically, he's leaning over the table, arms crossed over it, his face hidden, completely buried in his arms. He's... ...asleep.]

[Oswald blinks at that, before crossing the room and moving to sit at the table]

....Edward?

[No immediate response. Try again?]

Edward. [yeah he'll just....reach out to rest a hand on his shoulder?]

[enigmaster]

[The physical contact does it and Edward immediately bolts upright, eyes a little wide... and then he blinks a few times.] ...Um. Oh. [Oh. This is awkward.] Ah, h-hello.

[agoodname]

[yeah he automatically jerked his hand back when he sat upright so....blinking now]

....good evening. [he moves to sit]

Hm. [Edward straightens, a little and... quickly just adjusts himself a bit, too. And... well. Honestly, Edward's been gradually looking more tired the more time has passed. But right now it's especially obvious. The dark circles under his eyes more pronounced than ever.] ...Sorry. I didn't mean to fall asleep like that.

It's fine. [he frowns just a bit, though] ....are you alright?

Yes. Perfectly fine. [He doesn't even think about the answer. It's clearly a lie.]

[Oswald just....stares at him. And arches an eyebrow]

Edward, you fell asleep on the table. [dryly]
