Um. I... Okay? [he'll? do? that???]

[he's going to pop the bread in his mouth, then] There. Concentrate on that. [he's going to feed himself next, then, while Enygma reminds himself that mortal food is delicious]

[...somehow this is more distracting, though. He's doing his best to focus on the food, and it's good, it is, but also they're so close together and-- and why does that matter? it does, but why?]

[well, take your time to think about it, Enygma, because Osvaldus is going to be slowly going through that hummus and bread, tearing off bits and feeding it to him or to himself alternatively, cuddled up against his chest. When it's empty, he leans forward to set the plate on the table] So...[he peers up at him] Should I get up? [he almost doesn't want to ask because this was a really stupid idea probably and what is he even thinking actually, why did he take his stupid brother's word that Enygma was moping around without him, honestly, he probably never had a logical thought in his life and Osvaldus took his word on that, how could he be so stupid--]

[Enygma's head snaps up suddenly at that. Wait, no, don't leave--] ...No. Um, that is, this is... fine.

[that...is not the answer he expected. He was half-already moving to get up, but at that, he pauses, blinking, startled] It...is? [he swallows] Are you sure?

...It's... fine. Yes. I think. [what is happening]

Okay...[he'll settle back into his lap, then...and reach for the sweet peppers] Here, how about we try these next?

This is... some sort of fruit?

[agoodname]

Not quite. A vegetable. They're sweet peppers, stuffed with ricotta--it's the same cheese that was on the sandwich that we had.

[enigmaster]

You put cheese inside of vegetables? [He still doesn't even know what cheese is.] I thought it was for bread. Shouldn't the sweet pepper be on bread as well, then?

Well, in some dishes, they are roasted over a fire and put on a sandwich. And we put cheese inside of some vegetables. Here--[and he picks one up between his thumb and forefinger]--open~

[oh, he'll... open... his mouth okay this is just how eating works now???]

[it is for now. And he'll pop that sweet pepper right in your mouth sir so enjoy that sweet-bitter-salty-savory-olive-oily taste.]

[that is a lot of flavors Enygma chews, and the longer he does so, the more surprised his face gets, until he swallows] How does it have so many different tastes?

[Osvaldus can't help but beam, then, pleased]

Us mortals have had a lot of time to get creative with our food flavors. [he's going to pop one of those peppers into his own mouth, now, licking the excess olive oil off his fingers]

[There's something about this one he really, really likes. He doesn't know what, precisely, but...] Can I have another one?

[he'll gladly comply, yes, okay that's it's] I... think I like this. [it's good]

It's... good. You're good at making these. Did you grow these "peppers"?

[agoodname]

Oh, no, I bought them from the market yesterday, along with the ricotta, and stuffed them and marinated them in the olive oil overnight. Someone else grew them and sold them to me.

[enigmaster]

You can just... get these? Whenever you like? [what!!!] That's incredible.

Well, not whenever I like. But they're in season, now.
