Well, it's... important. I mean, summoners are... pretty rare. But we're the only ones who can fight Sin. I'm not good with attention, but... I want to help Spira.

Something like that. If I have this power, then... I want to use it for something worthy, you know? [The words don't feel entirely right in his own mouth. Too dressed up, too easy. It's... what it's for. The Fayth... um... they're what give summoners the ability to summon Aeons. And we only get it after praying for a way to defeat Sin, so... ...I just... want to help.

...what's...the world like, outside of Besaid?

[enigmaster]

...Not that much different than Besaid. [he looks around at the village, eyes landing on one tent in particular that's still in pieces, not rebuilt yet.] Outside of Luca and Bevelle, settlements don't get very big.

Sin. It... tends to destroy places, when too many people gather.

[well that's...a problem.] So...most places are Besaid-sized, then?

[enigmaster]

Close to it, at least... Except for Luca and Bevelle, it's just, small towns here and there.

[agoodname]

...I wonder what protects those places.

[enigmaster]

I believe... those places are especially protected, although. Well, I don't know how much even those could do to deter Sin. ...Even in those cities, though, people have lost a lot because of Sin.

Oh? How so? [he's information gathering now. He knows none of this, but now is the time to learn it.]

Places still get destroyed, sometimes. People still lose loved ones. Children, friends, parents... ...It's very rare meeting anyone who hasn't.

It....I see. [oof. It's that kind of situation, is it? Oswald frowns, thinking about that...what must these large cities be like, then, if they're the only places technically safe from Sin?]

...Sorry. Kind of a depressing topic, I know.
