[And hey, guess what? Someone's coming over now, taking a curious look at what Oswald's working on.]

"Don't tell me you're working all the way through your break?"

[Look at that, it's Harvey.]

[Oswald can't help but startle; he wasn't exactly expecting someone. And he twists around in his seat, ready to yell--except it's Harvey so he just...closes his mouth with a snap instead]

Ah...Harvey. Good afternoon.

"Good afternoon."

[Geez, Oswald, chill. We're all friends here.

Harvey looks a little apologetic, though.]

"Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt what you're doing."

[agoodname]

No, no, it's fine. [LOL HE'S GOING TO TRY AND RECOVER because omg it's Harvey his favorite person at work.] It's no trouble. I was just, ah...[wait shit how does he explain this]...it's a personal project.

[enigmaster]

"Oh, really? What about?"

[agoodname]

Ah. Well. [shit--he hesitates for a moment] ....it's about Edward, sort of.

[enigmaster]

"Oh?"

[And he approaches a little more, at that.]

"What about him?"

[agoodname]

Well...he doesn't like Halloween. Apparently he had a bad experience. [he presses his lips together] I was just doing some research to see if I could find out a bit more, to see if I could help him avoid anything that might trigger an uncomfortable situation for him.

[enigmaster]

[Harvey winces a little.]

"In Gotham too, of all places..." [GOTHAM LOVES... ITS SPOOKY STUFF] "That's unfortunate. Is there anything I can do to help?"

[agoodname]

Ah, well, if you're free...[Oswald trails off a bit, turning to glance up at him] ...his birthday is actually the 27th. We were going to have dinner and a game night to celebrate it. Nothing Halloween-related, of course. We could use another player, if you'd like to come.

[enigmaster]

"The 27th..." [Harvey takes out his phone, entering that into his calendar and he nods.] "Got it. I'd love to come. If Edward's comfortable with that...?"

[agoodname]

He is. [he smiles] I've checked with him, don't worry. We'd be happy to have you.

[enigmaster]

"Well, then I'll definitely come. What time should I come around?"

[agoodname]

Say around six for dinner? Does that work for you?

[enigmaster]

"Oh, I'll make the time, don't worry."

[He won't miss this. Edward's a good kid.]

[agoodname]

Lovely. I'm sure Edward will be quite pleased to hear that you can make it.

[enigmaster]

"He's doing well, I hope? Other than the Halloween stuff, I mean."

[agoodname]

...aside from the Halloween stuff, yes. He isn't going out much because of it, but he's keeping himself busy indoors anyway. But I...think he's settling in more permanently. So that's good.

[enigmaster]

"That's good to hear. He seemed a little... lost, you know? I'm glad he can settle a little, now."

[agoodname]

I am, as well. He's...had a difficult road.

[enigmaster]

"I can tell. I don't know a lot of the details, the files I got were kind of bare, but... Well. Anyone can tell just from being around him."

[Harvey feels for him, really he does.]

"Wish I saw less kids like that in this job."

[agoodname]

Unfortunately, as kind as the world can be, it can also be quite merciless if you have the bad luck to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. [he smiles, a little] At least they have someone looking out for them, who will step in on their behalf.

[enigmaster]

"Hm. Well. All the better that Edward met you, huh?"

[agoodname]

[aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhH??!!! Oswald immediately goes red, flushing, glancing away] Ah, well...I would hazard that I'm the lucky one. [BUT HE'S....STILL PRETTY OBVIOUSLY FLATTERED BY THE COMPLIMENT....]

[enigmaster]

[Harvey smiles a little.]

"It can be both." [And he gives Oswald a quick pat on the shoulder, before stepping away.] "Well, I'll leave you to it, then. Good luck."
