"And good riddance! Do not come back!" [the shouting after that woman is rather useless, but that sure doesn't stop Gertrude from doing it. She scowls, folding her arms] "The cheek of that woman!"

[There's a moment of... ...honestly, Edward isn't sure. Just a moment. Where suddenly nothing feels like anything anymore, but it. Passes. And Gertrude's voice filters back in.] Ah... [...] It's alright. She's... always sort of like that.

[and Gertrude just snorts] "Really. It is good you can choose to have nothing to do with her, now. Such nerve!"

Yeah. ...I would've preferred just hearing about this on the phone. Kind of seems like making a big deal out of nothing. [Because people definitely need to be gentle about the subject of death with Edward.]

"Hmph. You would think she would know better. But that is expecting too much, I know."

[enigmaster]

I don't really expect anything at all, to be honest.

Well... Edward's just... going to go over to the couch, now that he doesn't have to have a Serious Conversation anymore. He'll... wait for Oswald to come home. Put this whole thing out of his head.

[░░░...] Oh... Welcome home. [It's a relief, more than usual, to have Oswald back. Honestly.]

Hi. [there's a fond smile that curls the corners of Oswald's mouth as he sets the dumplings on the coffee table, before moving to sit next to Edward] How was your day?

It was alright. I'm glad you're back, though.

[agoodname]

I'm glad to be back. [and he really is, honestly. It's been incredibly stressful worrying about Edward most of the day.]

[enigmaster]

[Edward smiles, a little, but... But... B░░░░░░░░] Mhm. I didn't have much to do, after, um, earlier today. So it was kind of quiet without you, you know.

[agoodname]

I apologize for that. [he'll scoot a little closer; Edward's being evasive about the elephant in the room] If I could bring you with me all the time, I would.

That's alright. Just... glad you're here now. [YEP HE SURE IS KIND OF]

[he'll just...lean against Edward gently] ....did everything go okay earlier today?

Mhm... [░░░░░░░░░░░░░░] Yeah, it was fine... It really wasn't about anything that important.

[something about this seems very off....] Oh? Can I ask what it was about, then, if she was so insistent on seeing you in person?

[enigmaster]

Oh, well... One of my old foster parents died and she wants me to go to the funeral. That's all.

[agoodname]

Oh. [.....HM. His eyes flick over Edward's face.] .....good riddance? [he arches an eyebrow]

[enigmaster]

Definitely. [Yeah, lol, he don't care.] I don't know if there's some policy they have there or if she was worried this information would be upsetting to me, but honestly... I'm kind of glad he's dead.

[agoodname]

[the corner of Oswald's mouth curls at that, sly, cheeky] Should we celebrate, then?

[enigmaster]

[Edward pauses and... laughs a little.] I can't say I'd mind that. He was kind of awful... I never liked him.

[agoodname]

[LAUGH IS GOOD Oswald's smirk widens] Then we'll have to celebrate! [he pushes to his feet] I know exactly where we can get a decent champagne and there's a wonderful bakery in town where we could get a cake. We might have to write "congratulations on the death of one of your foster parents" on it ourselves, but I'm sure we'll manage.

[enigmaster]

[Oswald, please, omg...] That's pretty long... I'm not sure that'll fit.

We won't know until we try, now will we~? [he winks at him] Come along--let's go pick out your cake. [:>]
