[and Gertrude frowns at that] "Whyever not?"

Last time... Last time, he really took it hard... he was so upset. I don't... I don't want to keep making him upset. I just keep doing this and he'll realize that and... [And then, surely, he won't want Edward around anymore.....]

"You don't think he will be upset when he learns that you've been hiding this from him?" [her hand still rests on his knee, and she gently reaches out to touch his cheek. Of course, he can't feel it because she can't actually touch him, but...the intent is there] "Edward...my son cares for you very much. It's only natural that he's upset when you're hurt.

[Help? Help him? No way. Edward knows what comes from that. All too well. And that... that's way more terrifying than getting hurt.] No, I just... um... I just have to be more careful. I-I just have to try harder and... I can make it work, I'm sure. I don't want... [He doesn't really think there's any way of changing this. At the same time, he doesn't want Oswald to hate him... In Edward's mind, that's the only possible outcome here.] ...I, um... I need to go get some things. Sorry. [Yep, he's gonna get to work on getting ready again.]

"Edward--liebchen, at least think about it." [and Gertrude's floating after him] "You're only hurting both yourself and him by keeping it from him."

[Edward pauses for a moment and swallows, but... He doesn't... want to risk it. Being honest... can't really work out well, can it?] ...Sure. I'll think about it.

"....alright. That's all I can ask." [she reaches out to rest a hand on his shoulder] "Just...remember that Oswald cares about you very much. He only wants to help you."

[enigmaster]

...Sure.

[He wants that now. But what if helping Edward is just impossible? What then?

...He's just... gonna finish up getting ready for today and then get out of here. Wearing his scarf again as he goes out.]

[Oswald hasn't quite left for work yet, though, and as he hears Edward's bedroom door open, his voice comes floating down the hall] Edward? Is that you?

Ah... Yeah, it's me. Good morning.

[agoodname]

Ah, good timing, I just finished breakfast--[and he's coming around the corner...though he pauses when he notices that Edward's dressed to go out. And he frowns] Oh.

[enigmaster]

Ah... [Oops.] ...Sorry, I'm so used to waking up a lot later than you, I didn't think-- [Honestly, with the... conversation he just had, he hadn't even checked the time.] I can stay a little longer.

...if you want to. [he swallows a bit, looking a little unsure] I'd hate to keep you if you're...busy? [his eyes flick over Edward again, how he's dressed to leave...and that scarf]

[enigmaster]

Oh... I just have one place to go, really, so it won't even take very long...

[He'd be back after Oswald left, for sure, but long before he got back from work.]

Alright. I can just leave later, then. [He'll take a seat. It's... It'd be better if he just left, but. Oswald seemed so disappointed. And Edward wants to be around him...]

...thank you. [he smiles, a little, then--and goes to finish plating breakfast] Would you mind getting the orange juice out of the fridge?

[He'll get on that. Breakfast time!]

[yep just going to get them settled with some basic breakfast. It isn't really anything special, but it's something.]

[There's a fond smile that curls the corner of his mouth at that] Oh? What are you looking for today?

I'm looking for a book on plants.

Since that's, you know. Kind of Ivy's thing. So I thought it might be interesting...
