[at the next one, he frowns] ...the fit is a bit better but...it's a bit long. It looks like whomever made it wasn't sure what kind of coat they wanted to make.

[Edward blinks a bit, but shrugs and... switches again. Next one. He's going to trust Oswald's judgement on this.]

[that's smart because his judgement is very good on this--and even before Edward finishes buttoning it fully he's already dismissing it]

No. It's atrocious. I have no idea why I even grabbed it.

....probably for the color but I like it significantly less now.

[enigmaster]

[Annnnd off it goes. On to the next one.]

[this one he'll actually be quiet on for a moment, contemplative] Hm. I like the cut of it, and that color is rather nice....What do you think?

[enigmaster]

...It's nice. I think. [It is. It feels comfortable, too. He likes it.]

[agoodname]

[Oswald looks rather pleased at that] Good! We'll put it in the retry pile, then--here, hand it to me with the hanger, I'll hold onto it.

[enigmaster]

Mm, alright.

[He hands it over and... keeps going.]

[he dismisses the next to, but the one after....he considers] That's...nicer than I thought. [he sounds surprised] I wasn't sure about the lining, but on you it works rather well.

[he tilts his head] Thoughts?

[enigmaster]

[Huh.] I think it works... [He likes this one, also. It's warm...]

[agoodname]

Then it'll go in the retry pile also. [he holds out his hand for it and the hanger. Same procedure. Fortunately there's only a couple left after this.]

[enigmaster]

[And he keeps going. Any other standouts, Oswald?]

[NOPE he sure does dismiss those last couple in quick succession] Well! That narrows it down. [and he holds up the two survivors] Just two to retry. [and he hands Edward the first one--the first one he approved. It's sleeker, certainly, and more clean cut in a way]

[enigmaster]

[It is sleeker. It's nice. ...Really nice, actually, in a very noticeable way. He imagines wearing something like this in the sketchier parts of Gotham when some ghost leads him there. That'd be a thing.] ...It might be... a little much.

[agoodname]

[Oswald...likes it a lot, actually. It looks very nice. Very sleek, perfectly cut, and the color. It's gorgeous on him really. But that makes him blink at bit, turning his attention to Edward] Oh? How so?

[enigmaster]

It's a little... [how does he put this.....] ...noticeable? [Distinct. Eye catching. Not really words that fit him.]

[agoodname]

Well...yes? [he tilts his head a bit. You're going to have to elaborate, Edward] I should hope so--it looks very nice on you.

[enigmaster]

Ah... [Well, hearing Oswald say that almost makes him want to just shut up and go for it. But, well.] It might not be the best thing to wear in certain parts of town.

[agoodname]

[. . . .] Ah. I see what you mean. No traipsing around Gotham at 4am in that.[dryly--he frowns a bit, humming.]

In that case, it won't do. You need something you could wear in almost any case, and that's not it. [he holds out his hand for it, and then will pass Edward the other one]

[enigmaster]

[Edward takes that coat, putting it back on. It does look more casual. And he nods a little, as he looks at his reflection. Definitely nicer than any other coats he's ever owned...] ...I like it. It's nice.

[agoodname]

[Oswald studies him for a moment] You know, originally I grabbed it on a whim just because of the cut, thinking that I didn't like the lining but...I think it really works on you. It's not my style, obviously, but...it looks very good on you. [he pushes to his feet, setting the other coat down, starting to reach for the lapels to fuss with it--before he hesitates] Ah...may I? [he's glancing up at Edward, waiting for permission]

[enigmaster]

Oh. [It looks good on him. That's... He's glad to hear that, from Oswald. And as Oswald reaches out and hesitates, Edward swallows. He nods. Go ahead.]

[agoodname]

[the corner of Oswald's mouth quirks a little bit--and he reaches up to fuss with the collar, shifting how much it's folded over and smoothing down some of the lining, reaching up to settle it better around his neck before flattening it over his shoulders, dragging his palms slowly over the wool before taking his hands away.] There.

[enigmaster]

[Edward swallows again, as Oswald works on his collar. Trying to force himself to be less tense. There's nothing bad about this bit of contact. It's honestly... nice, really, so he'd like to be able to relax a little more. And then it's done already. He exhales, slow.] Ah... Thank you.

Not at all. [the corner of his mouth quirks a bit into a smile that is....well. A little softer and more affectionate than he probably means it to be. And then he's stepping back and out of the way, giving Edward a chance to see himself in the mirror] ...I'd say it suits you quite well. Very handsome.
