[Normally, he might be protesting more. Ask this Oswald just who he is, why he's here, insist that he's doing just fine, thank you, but... But, well, you spend over twenty four hours praying and it kind of takes the fight out of you. So he just kind of looks at Oswald and then at everyone else in the room. Feeling as if he's missing something here, for there to be someone else in this room...]

[well now there's definitely enough time for others to have caught up to them, so they're definitely ushered back out in short order--with Edward given a couple other people to lean on on the way out]

[Everything gets a bit busy after that. They're ushered out, Edward doing his best to walk on his own again, as they meet... well... basically the whole rest of the village waiting for them. He's crowded pretty quickly and doesn't get another word out to Oswald before that happens. ...But hey, Oswald can maybe finally get that meal.]

[well it's about time.

And like the whole rest of the village may be waiting for them but that's like, what, ten people?? Easy enough to avoid so he can focus on getting some food please maybe.]

[He'll get his food, no worries. Though through the tent's opening, as he's eating, he may just see, uh... a giant bird appearing in the center of town.

[.....okay yeah he'll

come out and take a look at that, abandoning his meal for the moment because wtf is that actually]

[Well, that boy from the temple, the summoner? He's currently petting the giant bird creature. And then, a moment later, he twirls his staff around... and the creature vanishes, as if it was never there.]

[. . . . . . . .] Well that's...unique. [what the fuck what the fuck what the fuck tho]

"Thaaaat's a summoner. Pretty wild to actually get to see, huh?"

[It's the red haired girl again, who's just approaching Oswald. Arms crossed as she searches his face a moment.]

"What, you didn't sneak into the temple just so you could get an early peek?"

...I beg your pardon, that's a what now? [he leans on his cane, frowning, arching an eyebrow] What is a summoner, exactly?

[enigmaster]

[She stares at him, as if he just grew another head.]

"...You're kidding, right?"

[agoodname]

Clearly not. [he sounds annoyed, now]

[enigmaster]

"You know, summoners?" [She says it slowly, as if talking to a particularly stupid child.] "People who summon Aeons so they can go defeat Sin? Those summoners?"

[agoodname]

No, I don't know, thank you very much! [snapped] The only thing I'm aware of is that I wound up here somehow because Sin got to the boat I was on, but aside from that, I know nothing about it.

[enigmaster]

[And at that she blinks... and her face softens a bit, annoyance melting away. She's quiet a moment.]

"Oh. I'm sorry." [She bites her lip, before just carefully patting his arm.] "I guess Sin messed you up a lot... Don't worry, the toxin usually wears off after a little while."

[hhhhh he just huffs again]

Yes. So I've been told. In the mean time, this remains very strange.

[enigmaster]

"Well... Okay, so, Aeons are these big powerful creatures. Summoners go into temples, pray there, and if they're heard, they can call them forth. Like the big monster you just saw. Ummm... What else..."

And they're supposed to...what? Fight Sin with these?

[enigmaster]

"Well... Sorta, yeah. It's a whole thing and... there's like this super special strong one that's powerful enough. They have to pray at every temple so they're strong enough to summon that one."

So if that defeats Sin, then why is Sin still here?

[enigmaster]

"Well--" [She can't get into that, though, as Edward's over soon. Just, gently tapping her arm to get her attention.] Um... Sorry, we... [He glances Oswald's way, before averting his eyes, almost skittish. Like he's afraid of making eye contact.] We, ah, have to go over our travel plans, still... "Oh! Right, right. Sorry, we'll have to talk more later."

[Oswald's eyes narrow slightly at that glance--then how he looks away.

Huh.

That's...interesting.]

[he'll let them go do that...for now. Before he finds a way out of Besaid via Butch informing him of a possible trip to the big city]

[Butch sure will inform him of that. Good thing, too, because some of the other villagers aren't so keen on Oswald right now, for going where he's not supposed to. I'm sure he's terribly broken up over it. But everyone will be outside in the evening. There's a campfire and everyone's just hanging around the village center. As is that summoner. Currently, he's off on his own, just. Looking at the fire, from a slight distance.]

[....huh. Well, all the more reason to avoid the village center, now isn't it.

He'll head over there, then, pausing as he steps up next to him]

[He blinks and looks up. Before, again, his eyes kind of dart away.] Um... no.
