[Edward... glances down at Oswald's leg a moment, at his ankle.] ...How long will it take for that to heal?

[Oswald huffs a bit, glancing down at it] ....I don't know. I'm not a doctor by any means. [he smiles a little, sheepish, with a wince] I'll try to impose on you for as short a time as possible, I promise. As soon as I'm able to walk on it a bit better, I'll be out of your hair.

...Good. [The sooner, the better.] ...You can stay in whatever room you want. I don't really care.

[ugh. Oswald can feel his temper want to snap slightly, annoyed with the callous attitude, but--]

[murmured, humbly, as if Edward had graciously invited him in or something.] I appreciate it.

[Edward blinks and looks... surprised. Hm? What??? Hm?] ...Sure. I don't know if you need anything... for that injury.

To be honest, neither do I. [Oswald sighs a bit, slowing down on the crutch once he gets back to the room he initially stumbled into and cautiously lowering himself back onto the couch because honestly...he's exhausted. He didn't DO much, really, other than cook, walk around a bit, have the scare of his life, and eat, but...he feels like he needs to take a nap or something. His ankle throbs in reminded hurt and protest--and Oswald winces, suppressing the need to hiss] Perhaps something cold for the swelling? It might help some. [he huffs a bit, glancing towards one of the windows in the room] Perhaps I can gather some snow.

[enigmaster]

... [Edward huffs a little bit. This is definitely gonna be a PROCESS and he's not happy about it, but. It'll go faster if he helps. So...] I can take care of that.

[agoodname]

[Oswald looks up at that, letting his surprise show on his face, blinking. That's...interesting. Maybe it's because he wants Oswald gone sooner, but also...] You...[then his expression flickers, a bit of concern, a bit worried ]...I'd hate to bother you more than I already am.

[enigmaster]

[Edward blinks a little at that. Ah...] ...It's fine. It's not like it's hard or anything.

Then....thank you. [and Oswald smiles, then, almost shyly. Too easy.]

[...That still feels weird to hear. Edward's just... gonna go do that. Gathering snow is... Not hard, exactly. But tasks like these are harder with his wings in the way, his claws really not great for this either. But he gets it done, gathering it. Enough to fill a cloth or something, to cool Oswald's ankle. He'll prepare that and bring it back to him.] There. [How's that, Oswald?]

Thank you, Edward. That will help, I'm certain. [another smile, appreciative, and he's shifting to put his ankle on the sofa. He sucks in a small breath as he pulls his pant leg up, revealing the discolored, swollen skin--it looks worse than it is, it's not broken probably?? but it's not great either. And Oswald presses his lips together, as if steeling himself, before leaning forward to place the ice against it. He can't help but wince at the feeling--it hurts. A lot. And he shudders in reaction]

[Edward's looking closely at the injury and he starts a little at the clear sign of pain when Oswald puts the ice against it. It looks bad.] That seems... very painful. [yeah no shit]

[agoodname]

[Is it that obvious? The snide question wants to work its way out of his throat, but he bites it back--swallowing that response. Opts for another one] ...it is, unfortunately. [he offers a small, pained smile] I'm hoping the ice will help numb it, at least.

[enigmaster]

[he's new at the TALKING to people thing] ...Do you... [...] Is there anything else that, um... [he feels very awkward right now]

Ah...No, not at the moment. [he glances at his arm] I might have to change the bandage on this later, as well, but I don't think that's necessary at the moment. That is...what do you think?

[enigmaster]

[Edward's going to get closer, to look at the bandage. And then he gets... right up there. So he can sniff it.] ...It's fine for now, I think.

[agoodname]

[it takes a lot for Oswald not to tense up as the beast suddenly gets significantly closer--but he manages. And then blinks] ...you can tell by smelling it?

[enigmaster]

Yes. I can smell the blood. It still smells alright for now.

[agoodname]

[....alrighty then. Oswald blows out a breath, though] That's a relief, at least. One less thing to worry about, for now.

[enigmaster]

Mhm.

[...]

You should rest.

[He's been through injuries enough, at least, to know that much. Gotta do a lot of resting. And speaking of rest, Edward's looking... a little sleepy himself?

...It is very early for him to be up.]

[Oswald nods at that--though the corner of his mouth quirks a little]

Should I say the same for you?

I'm fine. [He's not. He's very tired.] ...I'm not usually awake now. [He's too nocturnal for this.]

Ah...I apologize for waking you, then. [his smile is again sheepish, apologetic] It seems I have a lot to apologize to you for.

[enigmaster]

...It's fine. [Well, he did feel annoyed before, but now he just feels... weird about it? What's with that.] Just... don't yell in the mornings again. The sun hurts my eyes. [Like, a lot. It sucks.]
