[Edward groans a little and... blinks, bleary-eyed.] Huh...? [Is he still dreaming, because he almost thought he just heard Oswald.]

Edward! [his name again, and he's almost reached him] Are you alright?

[enigmaster]

Oswald? [He blinks again. Oh. Oh, no, that was... real? That's. Unexpected.] Yeah, I'm... fine? [Why wouldn't he be? He takes off his glasses to rub at his eyes for a moment. Damn, he's tired...]

You're--what are you doing out here? [he can't help but sound utterly baffled and he looks, well....significantly less put-together than he ever likes to]

Uh. [Geez, how does he even explain that.] I just... had to take care of something? ...And I guess I fell asleep for a bit. [oops]

[agoodname]

[hey Edward wtf] I guess you did. [he presses his lips together, then] Next time could you just--I don't know--leave a note? I know, it's not like someone cut my brakes or tried to frame you for murder or anything, but just a note to say that you haven't been kidnapped by some shadowy organization or the mafia or something would be helpful. [HIS VOICE IS DESERT DRY]

Oh. [Yeah, guess what Edward hadn't. Thought about. At all. And he winces a little.] I... Sorry. I hadn't thought... um...

Just...a note, next time. Okay? [he looks around] What is this place, anyway?

[enigmaster]

Yeah... Okay. Just an old house. It hasn't really... aged well.

[agoodname]

No kidding. [he turns to look at him again, arching an eyebrow] And what were you taking care of here, exactly?

Doing an old resident a favor. [Edward pushes to his feet and nods his head towards the corner of the... kinda destroyed room they're in. There's... an old doll there. Weird. Kind of spooky, all on its own.] Just a delivery, you know.

And after said delivery you just....decided to sleep here? [edward what]

[enigmaster]

Well, I kind of had to search for a long time. Sort of... took me all across town. [He dusts himself off.] By the time I was done I was a little tired, I guess. [...He kind of. Looks it. Not as terrible as at the end of his stay in jail, but. Like the start of it again. The dark circles under his eyes a little more obvious again.]

Wait--was this last night? [BIG FROWN???] Are you saying you've been up all night looking for that...doll thing?

[enigmaster]

Kind of. Since around... 3 AM, I guess? [He shrugs.] ...The person I was helping wasn't really the best communicator, so it took a while.

Three--three am?! [what the hell even?!?!?!?] They couldn't wait until morning?

[enigmaster]

...She wasn't really one for reasoning either. I'm not really sure how aware she was of time? [He shrugs again.] She was going to keep me up one way or another, so I figured I might as well just do what she wanted.

Right. Well. You certainly need the sleep, then--come on--[and he's turning to leave because wtf]

[Edward follows, of course. He's... still a little surprised by all of this.] I'm fine, really. I did get a few more minutes just now...

[agoodname]

Edward, don't take this too harshly, but you look like you should sleep for a week at least. [D R Y--and clambering out of there, around the wreckage--before flagging down a taxi]

I think that's just kind of how I always look.

You didn't look like that yesterday when you went to bed.

[still a bit pissy as he climbs into the taxi] Does this happen often?

...Pretty often. Yes. ...Sorry. I should've told you.

It's fine, I was just--[he blows out a breath, glancing out the window, then, quieter:]

...I was just worried.

[enigmaster]

Oh. [Edward looks over at Oswald, frowning. That's. New.] Sorry. I, um... Usually when I've done this, people don't really notice or care that I went off, you know?
