He sincerely looks like he's trying not to laugh]

"....there. S'that good?"

[enigmaster]

You said defiled. [Edward is. So tired. And so annoyed.] No, no, don't-- No, you said your place of eternal rest had been defiled and... oh my god. [He drags his hand down his face. HE'S SO. TIRED.] Oh my god this is the stupidest-- [HE HATES HIS LIFE] Okay, whatever. Is it good now? [A beat.] ...Okay, great, because I'm done.

[and Butch is....having a hard time keeping a straight face]

"So glad to have been of assistance."

[enigmaster]

I have half a mind to actually deface the damn thing...

[agoodname]

"If you're that tempted, we could go to the grocery store and get some eggs. But then they'd probably throw another tantrum."

[he still looks like he's struggling not to laugh at this whole situation]

[enigmaster]

...Yeah, probably. Not worth it, I guess. Stupid, overdramatic... Ugh. [He glances at his phone. It is... kind of late, now.] Guess I'll just go home... [He's still kind of mad. This hasn't helped as much as he hoped it would.]

"Alright." [he arches an eyebrow] "Uh... It's probably not my place but you still look kinda pissed."

[enigmaster]

[Edward just. shrugs.] I guess I am, still.

[agoodname]

"Huh." [. . . .]

"You wanna go bowling or something?"

[enigmaster]

[Edward blinks.] ...Huh? [hm???]

[agoodname]

[he just shrugs] "It's what I do when I'm pissed."

[enigmaster]

... You know what, sure. Okay. [today is already so goddamn weird why not]

"Cool." [right, he'll flag down a taxi, then. And direct them to a bowling alley. The place looks a bit older--with decor that looks like it's from the 60s or something. But it's clean and relatively nice and Butch is just going to get them shoes and a lane and get them set up with their first game]

[enigmaster]

[This sure is happening. Late night bowling... why not. Edward doesn't exactly have much bowling experience (shocking, truly), so he's not really great at it. But it's something to do. Something to distract him. Even if he is very tired, leftover anger and spite are kind of fueling him right now, so that's keeping him very awake.]

"I used to come here a lot as a kid." [he says, like he's that much older than Edward or something.]

[enigmaster]

[yeah way to talk like you're an old man, butch]

...Oh?

[agoodname]

"Yeah. It's kinda like...nobody gets shot up here, y'know? Nobody messes with the bowling alley.

So you can just chill here whenever."

[enigmaster]

Huh... I guess that's nice. [Peaceful or something. In a weird bowling sort of way?] I've never really been, before.

[agoodname]

"Bowling?" [he glances over] "Here--we'll put the bumpers up. Then you can learn."

[enigmaster]

Mhm. I didn't really have any reason to go.

[He wasn't the... go out and do an activity kind of kid.]

[agoodname]

"Hey, fair enough. But it's fine; you're gettin' it now, right?" [the corner of his mouth quirks, as he starts up the game.]

"Here--you probably want a lighter ball." [he waves Edward over to the rack of bowling balls]

[enigmaster]

Oh... Sure. [Lighter ball, yep. He'll get that.]

[He'll grab a significantly heavier one]

"Alright--so how you hold and throw the ball will help you not twist your wrist."

[and he'll actually take a solid fifteen minutes to show Edward how to hold the ball and how to roll it so he doesn't hurt himself--how to stand, how to aim, what not to do.]

[Edward is good at following instructions, so it helps a lot. He's actually getting the hang of it, with the extra help. He's starting to get... not bad at it.]

[honestly Butch is pretty impressed] "Hey--not bad at all! You pick things up quick, huh?"
