"In what way?" [he has a strong idea, but it's better for Edward to try and talk it out. That can help.]

That someone would be glad to have me around. [It's the strangest feeling, honestly. He doesn't really get how someone could... like having him around, for any reason.]

[Elijah's expression softens at that, sadly] "I can understand that. It feels unbelievable, for a while."

Kinda... yeah. [...] I guess I'll just have to... get used to that... [First he'll have to believe it, of course, but that's a whole thing.]

"You will, eventually. It might not feel like it now, and it make take some time, but...eventually, you'll get there."

[...] Sure. [And... he doesn't know when Oswald will get back, exactly, but this is about the usual time. So he's just going to start gathering up those crystals to put them away.]

[it's rather good timing, then--because Oswald is getting home around then. There's the key in the lock, and then the door opening and closing] I'm home~ [called, from the front doorway. And then he's appearing in the living room a moment later. There's an immediate smile that curls the corners of his mouth when he spots Edward--but then he pauses, sniffing the air a bit] ...is that...lavender?

[Right then, ah... Well, he managed to get the crystals put away, though the candle's still there. Heck.] Ah... Yeah. That's okay, right...?

Of course. [Oswald looks a bit intrigued] I didn't know you had an interest. My mother was rather fond of them herself.

[enigmaster]

Oh, ah... Well. It's nice sometimes, you know.

...it is nice, sometimes. [his expression has softened a bit, nostalgic] I can't say it's anything I'm going to complain about.

[...Never mind, the candle was a good purchase after all.] Oh... I'm glad. I was afraid maybe it'd bother you. [He'll leave the candle here, then. He's... already put the booklet that came with it away in his pocket. Just gonna keep the reason he really got this candle to himself. Well. And Elijah, but you know.] Ah, how was your day?

[Speaking of Elijah, he's....still there. Just observing. Oswald, also there, shakes his head.] No, it doesn't bother me at all. [as for that second question] It was...fine. We weren't swamped, so there's that. But it was still rather busy. We got in four new cases, so all of them needed dealing with. A couple were fairly straightforward and all the evidence seemed pretty obvious. However the other two are a little trickier. [he'll move to sit down across from him, then.]

[Edward is kind of glad for the subject change, just holding onto that. Yep, yep, just not gonna talk about the candle more!] It sounds like a lot, still... [JUST GONNA! TALK ABOUT THIS NOW! Just the regular catching up after Oswald's work, yep.]

What can I say? A prosecutor's job is never done. [he looks amused, and Elijah's frowning a bit in confusion] "You're not going to tell him?"

[He glances Elijah's way for a second, but... if he answers directly, that means explaining what he's talking about to Oswald. So. Attention on Oswald it is.] Well, good thing it's you on the job, then. [Still, the lack of a response is... probably enough of an answer, huh?]
