[AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH???????] Sure, go ahead. [He'll hand Oswald what he needs and sits back a little, to give him the space to try it.]

[RIGHT HE'S GONNA give this a shot. He does have to scoot over there, though, to get a better angle...which, despite the backing up, does put him closer to Edward. He picks up the tension wrench and the lock pick then, and just starts....futzing with it. Testing which way the lock turns and feeling the difference between the two, and then slowly starts to test the tumblers, one by one, more just trying to get the feel for the differences in the tumblers than actually unlock it just yet. He has a very intense look of concentration on his face]

[It... really does put Oswald very close to him. And that's not a problem. It shouldn't be a problem. It's not like they're touching, they're just close. So there's really no reason why that's all Edward can think about now. It's ridiculous, really. He swallows, trying to put it out of his mind. Glancing over at Oswald's face and oh. ...that expression is kind of cute?]

[yep now he's concentrating pretty hard on this. The tip of his tongue pokes out of his mouth as he does so--pushing one tumbler into place with a small click, and he sucks in a bit of air through his nose, shifting a bit so he can see better, getting a little closer to Edward]

[Edward... tenses up, a little, and tries to focus his attention on the lock instead. Not that he can see Oswald's progress, but. Well. That's. Easier to focus on right now.]

[something inside the lock clicks a bit oddly, and Oswald frowns]

...I think I pressed to hard or something.

[enigmaster]

[Edward blinks a little, letting out a breath.] Oh, that could be... It takes some getting used to before you know exactly how much pressure you need. [Edward reaches out and... hesitates, then, hovering close to Oswald's hands. Stopping there.] Ah... I could... reset it for you...

[....ah. Edward's hands are very close to his. And Oswald licks his lips, making to hand Edward the tools because he kind of also just realized how close they are and how much he would REALLY LIKE TO TOUCH EDWARD'S HANDS which is ridiculous Oswald what is wrong with you oh yes he just has a massive crush okay this is fine] I'd like that.

[Edward nods and gently takes the tools and... scoots a little closer to the box. Resetting the lock. This one he knows inside out, so it's easy to do. And then he holds the tools out towards Oswald.] There. Give it another shot.

[right okay reaching out to take those back after watching how he reset it--fingers gently brushing Edward's for a moment as he takes them AND YEP GONNA TRY AND JUST FOCUS ON THAT LOCK MAYBE WHILE MENTALLY SCREAMING]

[Oswald brushes past him and suddenly Edward's mind just goes blank then he blinks and suddenly Oswald's working on the lock again and oh that. That was... a thing. Okay.]

[REALLY HE SHOULD NOT BE MENTALLY SCREAMING THIS BADLY OVER JUST THAT LITTLE CONTACT but he kind of is and its very very hard to concentrate on this lock also he might be pretty flushed]

[oh god what is even happening why is his heart racing what the HECK and oh geez Oswald is seeming pretty unfocused um should he do something] Just... take it slow and easy. One at a time.

....right. [and he just....takes a slow breath and then breathes it out. Focus, Oswald. It's fine. It's just a little touch. It's...yeah. But more on that later. Right now, the lock.] One at a time.

[and he starts again, slowly, working one at a time and just....TRYING TO FOCUS ON THAT even though his face still feels like it's on fire and his ears are red but it's fine. He's worked under higher-stakes circumstances]

[Edward leans in, just a little, because that way he can see the lock better too ...and only when he does so does he realize that this puts him closer to Oswald and uh shit okay well this is happening]

[oh. Edward is...very close. And Oswald has to bite his tongue to try and stay focused and not lean closer to Edward rather than focus on the lock and AAAAAAAAHHHHH HE'S JUST SO CLOSE He swallows, hard, and just--he almost loses his grip on the wrench, but manages to catch himself at the last moment and--yes alright, he's got the first tumbler in place, at least.]

[Edward's... doing his best to focus on the lock, instead of on Oswald, which is going extremely badly, but okay okay he can do this] Right... Just keep at it.

[he blows out a breath at that] ...yes. Working on it. [right--the next one, then, and then the next. But it's....he's right there and it's doing very funny things to Oswald's stomach and his concentration and how do people live like this--yep gonna take in another, slightly shaky breath]

It seems like it's going well.

[alsdkhfs that makes Oswald choke on a bit of a laugh] Well now I can't fail.

but that, at least, helps his focus a bit--and he manages the next two tumblers fairly handily]
