[Elijah arches an eyebrow at that, looking curiously at the crystals]

"What, exactly, are you trying to do?"

[enigmaster]

...I don't know. Apparently they're, um... supposed to be good for... boosting spiritual power. Or something... [See now he's just kind of embarrassed.]

[....???]

"And you...want to boost your spiritual power, I take it?"

[enigmaster]

...I thought it was worth trying.

[agoodname]

"It certainly was. You never know, I suppose."

[Elijah considers this]

"It would be good if you could have a teacher in this sort of thing, but...."

[enigmaster]

Kind of impossible when no one else seems to be like me.

[agoodname]

[Elijah simply nods at that, folding his arms]

"Yes, that certainly does make it difficult." [he considers] "I suppose you've got very little choice other than trial and error, then."

[enigmaster]

Yeah. I can mark this one down as an error, at least. The crystals are just pretty rocks and the candle is... lavender scented. Great. [He sighs and rests his head on the table for a moment.]

"At least the candle smells nice, I suppose." [there's a mild amusement in Elijah's expression]

[enigmaster]

There's that, I guess. [Edward sighs and pulls out his phone.] I don't know what I was expecting from that anyway... Of course it was just a scam. That's probably all that's out there... [So he says. And yet, here he is. Looking up more of them.]

[agoodname]

"Perhaps. But once you've tried them, at least you'll know for certain." [gently] "There's nothing wrong with trying all of your options."

[enigmaster]

Yeah, I'm just... going to keep trying. Maybe eventually one of them will be real. Worth a shot... [It's... a bit of a waste of money, of course. And Edward doesn't really have a lot of money himself, but he sure as heck isn't gonna use Oswald's money for this.] I don't even know what'll happen if something does work...

"I suppose that's just one more bridge you'll cross when you come to it." [Elijah pauses to seat himself at the table as well] "How are you holding up, Edward?"

[enigmaster]

Huh? [Edward blinks a little, tilting his head.] Um... Fine?

[agoodname]

"That's good to hear." [Elijah smiles, then, kindly] "After Halloween, Gertrude and I were a bit worried."

[enigmaster]

Oh. [Edward looks back down at his phone. It's... as good a place to look away to as any.] ...Right. [Yeah, Halloween hadn't been fun. And... still isn't. It's over now, sure, but... Only just. It's still sticking in his head a little. He's just used enough to things like this that he doesn't think about it.] ...Nothing to worry about, really...

"....that's a relief. I'm glad to hear that. You two seemed to be having a good time when we peeked in."

[enigmaster]

...Mhm. [He's a little quiet, for a moment.] It was nice not really... thinking about Halloween for once.

[agoodname]

"Nothing like an evening of movies and junk food to take your mind off of it." [he smiles, a bit] "We just popped in to check on you two; we didn't stick around, don't worry."

[enigmaster]

Oh. [Ah...] Um, alright. Not much happened, anyway. [...He says that, but what could have possibly even happened, now that he thinks about it???] I'm just... glad the Halloween season's over and done with. It's nice being able to go outside again...

"I can imagine it is. Gotham may not be the most pleasant in the winter, but it's certainly better than being inside all the time."

[enigmaster]

It's just cold. I don't mind it much. I have a good coat, now. [Thanks to Oswald.]

"Yes. I imagine that helps. Oswald always did have a rather good eye for that sort of thing...it does suit you quite well."

Does it...? I do like it. I just don't know much about fashion. It's... comfortable.
