Would you do me the favor of inspecting your items to ensure that they are all there and in proper condition? I'd hate for anything to get left behind or have been broken.

Oh, um. Sure... [And Edward is just... going to take a look inside the box. Just... check out what's in there. It's not a lot, but that's about right.] It looks okay. [Which kind of confirms that the landlord was full of shit all along and everything's just been boxed up for later the whole time. Probably hasn't had time to sort through it all yet.]

Excellent. I'm glad to hear it. [and he'll...hand Edward the box, because he needs to use his cane lol. And he turns back to the landlord.] Mr. Lyon. I'll be in touch if we find anything else gone awry with Mr. Nygma's possessions. Good day. [and with that he's turning, moving to usher Edward out]

[The landlord looks livid, but also doesn't really wanna pick a fight, so he just grumbled and slams the door of his office behind him as the two leave. Edward feels a little numb, at first, as they walk out. Just holding the box, looking a little... surprised, maybe? He wasn't really expecting it to go like that. He's not sure what he was expecting.]

Well. Good riddance to that cretin. [he's scowling, and is going to just flag down a taxi to take them back to his apartment]

Mhm. [Edward is just... watching Oswald. Staring kind of.]

[Oswald blinks, once, startled---and then feels his entire face seem to heat up almost at once, even as stomach goes all funny] Ah, well, you know...when you say enough words at someone like that and talk about owing money, they usually fold fairly quickly.

Still... [LISTEN, EDWARD IS IMPRESSED... and feeling weird for some reason and he's not sure what's up with that but he kind of wants to scream internally forever maybe He swallows, instead.] Thank you for the help.

He swallows, anyway, as the taxi arrives] We couldn't just leave your stuff there, after all. [and he's reaching out to open the door to the taxi so they can both climb in.]

[And Edward trailing behind Oswald, of course, carrying the box into Oswald's place. ...It's not that hard, considering there's hardly anything in it, so that's a plus.]
